Car accident seriously injures 3 people in Texas

Recently, a Texas car collision left three people lucky to be alive. The accident occurred on April 27 when a driver, out for a birthday celebration, left the Longhorn Saloon on Bandera's Main Street sometime after midnight. Shortly after, a car accident occurred. The woman was said to be driving a 1999 Mustang south on Highway 16 when she rear-ended a motorcycle and crashed into two pedestrians walking along the side of the road.

The pedestrians were seriously injured and taken by air to a San Antonio Hospital. One of them was suffering from a lacerated liver and brain injury. Days later, the man was still heavily sedated and in the intensive care unit. The injuries to the other pedestrian are unknown, though, it was observed that he was released from the hospital by April 30. The motorcycle driver was taken by ambulance to Boerne Methodist. A family member said he had been released from the hospital and was at home recovering from his injuries.

Truck accident causes serious injuries and heavy damage in Texas

A serious truck accident occurred near Seguin on the morning of April 27, but fortunately, no one was killed. A Chrysler PT Cruiser had pulled over to the shoulder to allow an 18-wheeler truck to pass. What happened next caused a massive truck accident, which resulted in several injuries and a long snarl of traffic.

When the truck attempted to pass the PT Cruiser, it clipped it, and the impact hurled the car into the path of an oncoming school bus. The Chrysler struck the bus, also causing a Ford Focus to rear-end the school bus. Some 13 people ended up in the hospital as a result of this accident. The 18-wheeler driver was transported by airlift to University Hospital; he is in critical condition. Nine students and the bus driver were also hospitalized.

Catastrophic injuries kill 83-year-old San Antonio man

An 83-year-old man suffered injuries after a brush cutter accident outside a San Antonio house located in the 5600 block of South Flores Street. The man died on Monday, April 16, while maintaining one of his properties. The brush cutter he was using did not have a blade guard. As a result, catastrophic injuries resulted when he used it.

Neighbors close to the property saw smoke and mistook the accident for a fire. Thinking that the fire would spread to adjacent areas, some neighbors began to water their homes and lawns. Eventually, the wife of the harmed individual ran to a fire station to tell the responders that her husband was on fire.

Police officer deals with a long recovery after a truck accident

A San Antonio police officer involved in a truck accident continues his recovery in a rehabilitation hospital. The officer was at the scene of another accident in February and was placing cones around the area to help protect a fellow officer when he was struck by a vehicle. The injuries sustained in the truck accident required him to undergo 10 surgeries.

The man, a six-year police veteran, sustained injuries serious enough to require an eventual transfer to a rehabilitation center. He is continuing his recovery at that hospital. He will likely need months to recover before he can return to duty. Although the man is extremely fortunate to be alive, he is probably facing astronomical medical bills due to the initial hospitalization after the accident and the eventual transfer to rehabilitation. According to reports, the man will be out of work for a lengthy period. Therefore, lost wages may be another issue for him as he struggles to make a full recovery.

Man and wife lose their lives in a San Antonio car accident

In recent news, a San Antonio car accident has claimed the lives of a husband and wife. The couple was at a northeast-side bus stop when the accident occurred on April 10 close to 5 p.m. One victim was 81-years-old, and his wife's age was 65. The car accident is still under investigation.

The bus stop is on Jung Road and Briarcrest. The couple was struck by a white pickup truck, which had been struck by an SUV. There was a report that texting while driving may have been a factor in the fatal car accident, but that has not been independently confirmed.

Family offers reward for information in a hit-and-run accident

A hit-and-run car accident in San Antonio, which dates back to last November, has not been solved. As a result, the police are pushing the public for assistance with solving the crime. The 24-year-old victim had recently graduated from the Alamo Area Council of Government's Law Enforcement Academy before his death. The deadly car accident occurred outside of a local night club.

When the accident happened, the young man had gone with some friends to a night club near the intersection of West Ave and Bitters. When they arrived at the club, the victim realized he had forgotten identification so he stayed inside of the car to wait for his friends. Sources report that he later fell asleep.

Tragic car accident claims the lives of a mother and child

A car accident in San Antonio has taken the lives of a 28-year-old mother and her 10-year-old daughter. The two were killed when the parked car they were in was struck by a Jeep Cherokee. They were waiting inside the vehicle while the mother's fiancé fixed a flat tire. The car accident occurred on the eastbound shoulder of Interstate 10 near West Avenue.

The impact of the collision pushed the parked car 131 feet. The young child was transported to University Hospital but was pronounced dead about an hour and a half after arrival. No further details are available about the mother, but sources confirm that the collision resulted in her death.

Texas carnival safety lapse? 3-year-old suffers serious injuries

When taking the family for a day of fun at the carnival, no one expects to wind up with a serious injury. Unfortunately, this was the case for one Texas family at a recent Houston carnival when a 3-year-old girl fell nearly seven feet from a carnival ride after she slipped underneath the ride's restraints. The girl is said to have sustained a potentially serious concussion injury, among other minor bruises.

There is some speculation concerning who accompanied the 3-year-old on the ride. Rodeo officials claim she was with her 8-year-old brother; though, family members say her only brother is her twin, who is also 3 years old. Regardless, the young girl was not accompanied by an adult.

San Antonio truck accident results in injuries and death

In recent news, an 18-wheeler driver responsible for causing a three-vehicle truck accident in San Antonio is facing charges for criminally negligent homicide. The accident occurred when a different truck slammed into the end of the 18-wheeler, which was stopped in the passing lane of the highway. After the truck accident, a pickup truck subsequently rear-ended the vehicles involved in the first crash.

The truck driver who rear-ended the18-wheeler was killed. The pickup driver suffered leg injuries as a result of the accident and was transported to San Antonio Military Medical Center. Authorities closed the southbound lanes of Northeast Loop 410 while investigators attempted to piece together all of the facts and circumstances of the wreck.

San Antonio hit-and-run injures man

Pedestrian strikes are some of the worst accidents. The luckiest of victims usually walk away from the scene with life-threatening injuries. Nevertheless, these mishaps happen all of the time. Recently, a man was injured in a San Antonio hit-and-run car accident, and police are searching for the responsible driver. Sources say that a man was walking near railroad tracks when, according to authorities, he was struck by a car. Police said the man woke up disoriented in a ditch. The driver responsible for the auto accident apparently left the scene.

The man was transported to a local medical center in Tennessee. He is suffering from a broken pelvis, cuts to the head, buttocks and arms. Reports do not state the current medical condition of the injured person.
